I am a fully qualified driving standards agency approved driving instructor (Diamond Advanced) working in Southampton and all surrounding areas.

I first qualified as an approved driving instructor in 1984. Although fully qualified I felt this was not enough to gain my mark in the driver education industry so in 1989 I enrolled with the Salisbury college of further education and studied for the AEB national diploma in road safety and driver education. Having worked very hard at this and passing these difficult exams I was then eligible to sit the special Cardington driving test conducted by the driving standards agency in their training headquarters in Cardington.

In July 1991 I passed the special Cardington driving test with a grade A to gain the prestigious title of Diamond Advanced Instructor. Putting this into perspective out of thirty five thousand registered driving instructors, less than 3% have managed to achieve this prestigious award. So please before you choose your driving instructor don't be afraid to ask what qualifications they hold apart from approved driving instructor status (ADI).
